Viagra Will Not Help Tiger

there are no reports which show that the use of Viagra in animals has any effect

Ukmedix News has come across reports that a zoo in the Chinese province of Jiangxi is keen to get its female tiger pregnant and enlisted the help of another zoo in the Hebei province to provide a male tiger to do the deed.

Viagra Will Not Help Tiger

What caught our eye at Ukmedix News is that the managers of the zoo are concerned that the male tiger is showing very little interest in mating with the female tiger and thus were toying with the idea of giving it some Viagra which they believed would increase the chances of success.

There are a couple of things the managers of this zoo should realise. Firstly Viagra has not been clinically tested for use with any animals and thus is unlikely to work in the same way as it works with humans on a tiger. In fact it could be extremely dangerous to give Viagra to a tiger as it could cause blood pressure or heart problems.  Secondly sexual desire is not enhanced by the use of Viagra and therefore it is very unlikely that the male tiger will have sex more often if it is given the impotence drug, (that is assuming that it works at all).

Ukmedix News has seen many reports about breeders giving Viagra to their animals to try and increase the likelihood of success but there are no reports which show that the use of Viagra in animals has any effect. Racehorse breeders for example are known to have tried to use Viagra but with no documented success.

Any serious vet should advise that animals should not be given any erectile dysfunction drugs as the side effects could be dangerous and even possibly worse than any sexual problems that an animal may have.

The reports which surfaced in the Chinese newspaper People's Daily said that the male tiger was being fed healthily which is probably the best thing for it. Unhealthy zoo animals are likely to have lower breeding rates than healthy wild animals.
