he is able to keep the condition under control with the use of Viagra.

Viagra has come to the rescue of the rugby player Mr. Paul Coates in an unusual way! Paul who was fit and healthy and having no problems with his erectile function suddenly started to experience shortness of breath and even complete blackouts when training with his teammates. The problem carried on getting worse until he found that even routine tasks were making him out of breath and that is when he realised that he better go and see a doctor.

Paul who has now been diagnosed with the incredibly rare incurable illness Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension was devastated when told he’d never be able to play rugby again but on the upside he is able to keep the condition under control with the use of Viagra.

In the same way that the drug widens the penile arteries it can also help with blood flow between the pulmonary artery between the heart and lungs. Thanks to Viagra, Paul is now able to breathe a lot better and go back to work. Paul says that the Viagra drug is not having any “side effects” but maybe he is just being secretive. What he did say was that he’s able to get on with his life, play with his children and not worry about blacking out the whole time.

Paul who got married last year is keen to highlight the condition of Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension and he and his wife painted their lips blue during their wedding ceremony as a way of raising awareness of the condition and to support the Pulmonary Hypertension Association which encourages and funds research for a cure. One of the first symptoms of Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension is having blue lips caused by lack of oxygen in the blood.

Paul said that his wife Suzy is incredibly supportive and has even taken part in sponsored triathlons to raise money for research.
