Criminal gangs reckon that it is safer to sell fake Viagra on the street 
The talk on the street is that dealing in fake Viagra is a better business to be in than selling cocaine. Criminal gangs are increasingly turning to selling fake Viagra not only in shady corners but also online because it is said to deliver more than 2,000 times more profits than the expensive white powder favoured by celebrities and wealthy socialites.
Jim Thomson speaking for the European Alliance for Access to Safe Medicines explained that on the street a fake Viagra tablet could sell for as much as £20 but it was possible to buy the active ingredient, (of very dubious quality) for as little as £33 for 10,000 tablets. The tablets would then be made by amateur pharmacists in substandard illegal laboratories.
Criminal gangs reckon that it is safer to sell fake Viagra on the street because the profits are bigger and the punishment for being caught is significantly less. Some of the gangs have become so good at copying Viagra, Cialis and Levitra that the tablets look indistinguishable from the real thing.
The temptation for the criminals to make more money by supplying completely dud medication is very great. It is not like there is a customer complaints form that can be filled in if they don’t work.
