Health authorities in New Zealand have been having some luck with their desire to stamp out the illegal trade in fake medicines that claim to be herbal and natural but are in fact using prescription drugs as their active ingredients. Recently a batch of 5 different supposedly herbal medicines were found to have sildenafil citrate in them which is in fact the the active compound in the world famous erectile dysfunction medicine Viagra.
In New Zealand the Director General of Health was on record as saying that all the supplies of these Asian "herbal" remedies had been taken into custody and for the meantime the Health Ministry was advising anyone who used the products that they could be at risk especially if they kept using them.
New Zealand being so close to Asia is being plagued by these illegal impotence remedies that use prescription drugs and the Health Authorities earlier this year decided to take a stand against the problem and launced a campaign of random tests on suspicious looking herbal remedies. The campaign is now bearing fruit and these remedies that were sometimes being sold under the counter were even sometimes sold in unlabelled bags.
The danger of any product which uses the active ingredient of Viagra (sildenafil citrate) is that it can interfere with medication for people who have heart problems and even cause low blood pressure if used with nitrates. Any unsuspecting person innocently drinking a herbal remedy for impotence may in fact be condeming themselves to death or serious heart injury. The New Zealand drug agency called Medsafe is likely to prosecute the people and companies that have been distributing the products.
Many of these fake herbal remedies are also sold online and anyone who buys anything online for impotence that is not the genuine article of Viagra, Cialis or Levitra is putting their health at risk. In the interests of safety the Health Ministry has described what the fake products look like. If you know of any impotence pills that are red or brown and marked '800mg' or red pills with gold foil labelled Kang Da or finally a six pack pills with the label Qing Zhithen then inform the authorities or at least destroy them immediately.
