Viagra Research Says That Self Esteem Not Boosted

However Ukmedix News has seen other research which says precisely the opposite

New research done at Deakin University shows that while the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra have very obvious beneficial effects to help men suffering from impotence they do not automatically cure a man’s sexual health. The study that looked at around 550 men of whom just over 400 suffered from erectile dysfunction examined the psychological impact of erectile dysfunction on men. The men were asked questions about their relationships and how the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra helped those relationships.

Viagra Research Says That Self Esteem Not Boosted

It is important to remember when using erectile dysfunction drugs that while they can definitely help men and sustain their erections and thus give them a healthy sex life they do not actually cure the underlying problem that causes the erectile dysfunction in the first place. If you are a man that relies on erectile dysfunction drugs in order to have sex you must consider and think hard about your lifestyle and ask yourself why you are suffering from erectile dysfunction in the first place.  If it may be that you are overweight, smoking, drinking too much or just generally living an unhealthy life. If you can resolve these issues you will not need to take the erectile dysfunction medication.

The researchers from Deakin University saw that men suffered from psychological problems when they get erectile dysfunction. They reported lower self esteem, a loss of masculinity, and found that both their satisfaction with their sex lives and their relationships suffered. For a man to be unable to function sexually is extremely demoralizing and this can have a negative impact on the quality of his relationship with his wife or girlfriend. Many women underestimate the psychological impact of erectile dysfunction on a man.

According to the researchers they said that overall men did not improve their self esteem after having used the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis or Levitra despite having been able to have sex satisfactory, however Ukmedix News has seen other research which says precisely the opposite. In fact we have even come across cases where doctors prescribe erectile dysfunction medication to men, which then as well as curing their sexual function also cures their depression. So much so that Viagra, Cialis and Levitra have even been considered to be antidepressants in some medical circles.
