Premature Ejaculation Research With EMLA

A group of Turkish researchers in Ankara have been studying whether the effect of a Eutectic Mixture of Local Anesthetics cream (EMLA) is useful in treating premature ejaculation. The results look promising with one of the researchers saying that application of the EMLA cream appears to be a useful, cheap and easy to use way to stop the problem of premature ejaculation.

The research examined the effect of the EMLA cream with Viagra (sildenafil) in different combinations. They were Viagra only, Viagra plus EMLA cream, EMLA cream only and a placebo group was also used. Eighty four men who suffered from premature ejaculation problems took part in the study.

The men were put into 4 groups of either 20 or 22 and the figures showing positive results were as follows: Placebo 40 percent; Viagra only 55 percent; Viagra and EMLA cream 86.4 percent; EMLA cream only 77.3 percent.

The reserachers noted that the result difference from the placebo group to the Viagra only group was very small and therefore insignificant. The difference in th results between the Viagra plus EMLA and the EMLA only were thought to be again insignificant from a statistical point of view. The important thing which the researchers noted was that the use of the EMLA cream really had an effect on decreasing the chances of premature ejaculation.

The usual side effects of Viagra were reported in both those who used Viagra only and those who used it with the EMLA cream. Those who used the EMLA cream only reported no side effects along with the men in the placebo group.

The numbers speak for themselves regarding the efficacy of the EMLA cream and show that Viagra can work well with the cream too without any significant statistical changes in the number of premature ejaculation sufferers.
