Viagra Laws Being Tightened Up

In the Dominican Republic The Ministry of Health is getting increasingly concerned about the proliferation of fake erectile dysfunction drugs that are sold openly on the streets and in bars clubs other places that are not licensed to do so. The Drugs and Pharmacies Agency (DPA) has therefore passed laws warning people that from the 1st January 2007 anyone who sells impotence drugs that are meant to have a prescription outside of a pharmacy will be breaking the law and can be fined heavily and even sent to prison for as much as 2 years.

The DPA will also be banning adverts for the drugs that do not meet new guidelines and also the playing of songs that advertise the drugs in a sublime way with hidden meanings and double entendres. The list of drugs that are not to be sold will include sildenafil (Viagra), taladafil (Cialis) and Vardenafil (Levitra).

The problem in the Dominican Republic is that the drugs are becoming so widespread in use that they have become recreational drugs that even people who are in perfect sexual health are taking in order to boost their performance. Many of the people taking them are young people who are using them when they party and often consume them after taking alcohol.

Pharmacy owners say that the majority of the men who were using the erectile dysfunction drugs were under 45 years old and that they were selling extremely well despite the fact that the drugs were available on the street too. The new laws will be tightening up the requirement for a prescription and will attempt to make sure that only men who really need the drugs will take them.

The use of impotence drugs without prescription is dangerous as there are some side effects that can be harmful if the wrong people take them. It is always better to get a prescription from a doctor before using Viagra, Cialis or Levitra.
