In the future sometime when you go on an airplane you may also pop a Viagra pill. No, it’s not so that you can get a membership of the mile high club, is just so that when you get to your destination you will not feel so jet lagged. According to the new research done at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina hamsters who were given tiny doses of the famous erectile dysfunction medication were able to adjust their body clocks better and faster when compared to other hamsters who were not given the medication.

Now, obviously the researchers did not fly the hamsters all across the Atlantic Ocean in order to get them jet lagged but just disrupted their body clocks by turning on the lights earlier in the morning so that it felt like they had travelled from New York to London. It was then recorded how quickly they started to get on with their usual activity such as going for a run in their exercise wheels.
The researchers however noted that the Viagra was likely to be helpful to people who were travelling from New York to London but not necessarily for those going from London to New York. In all the researchers reckon that the Viagra hamsters were able to recover from the effects of jet lag between 25 percent and 50 percent faster than those hamsters who were not given the Viagra.
At Ukmedix News we found this research interesting and we expect that more research will be done in this regard very soon. However we would like to advise all of our readers not to attempt to take Viagra before going on a plane because that is not what it is indicated for. Viagra can affect blood pressure and going up on a plane may also affect blood pressure so it is strongly recommended not to take Viagra when flying until more research has been done.
