The Other Side Effects Of Impotence Drugs

Written by Stuart Stevens | Wednesday, 21 May 2008

all sexually transmitted diseases among older men have risen

There is no doubt that the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra have been a great success and have helped millions of men and women improve their sex lives. It is estimated that almost 30 million men around the world use Viagra and some statistics put a figure of 100 million for men who use some form of erectile dysfunction medication.

The Other Side Effects Of Impotence Drugs

The manufacturers of Viagra, Cialis and Levitra always mention the side effects of the drug such as the fact that it can cause mild flushing, lower blood pressure but it is important to be aware of the other indirect side effects that using these erectile dysfunction drugs can have which are not immediately obvious.

For example while these drugs have been useful for cementing many relationships they have also put others under great stress, such as those relationships where the woman is dealing with menopause and a low sexual desire and at the same time the man is just beginning to experience erectile rejuvenation with the Viagra, Cialis and Levitra drugs.

Relationship experts say that it is high time that a female “Viagra”was developed so that older women with husbands taking the erectile dysfunction drugs would have their own medication. In fact there is one already called Intrinsa but it is not so widely used as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra and thus has not gained general acceptance.

Another thing which you should be aware of is that over the last ten years the amount of men between the ages of 45 to 64 who have sought treatment for the sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea has risen by 227 percent, which incidentally is four times greater than the increase in gonorrhea among teenagers.  In fact all sexually transmitted diseases among older men have risen, including chlamydia and even the dreaded AIDS.

Men who suddenly get their erectile function back after many years have often forgotten the mantra on safe sex and using condoms which younger people are far more aware of and thus they get themselves into trouble. Men should always make sure that they use Viagra, Cialis and Levitra responsibly and sensitively with their partners if they wish to gain the best results from it.
