Scientists at the University of Alberta have proven that the erectile dysfunction medication Viagra as well as being very effective in helping men who suffer from impotence can also be useful to boost heart function and they say that it could even save the lives of men and women who suffer from certain heart conditions. Recently Ukmedix News has been coming across a lot of research done with the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra and the heart and Pfizer who make the drug Viagra are keen to see if more lucrative ways of using the drug can be discovered.

The research from the University of Alberta seems to suggest that when a man or woman has a problem with their right ventricle in their heart which is at the moment a condition for which there is no cure, they should be given Viagra. With their research they said that the function of the right ventricle was significantly boosted with patients who were given the Viagra drug.
Funnily enough to the researchers noted that there are a number of drug treatments to help people who have a problem with the left ventricle in the heart but at present there are no treatments to help people who have problems with the right ventricle. The researchers said that all three drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra could be in the future used as standard treatment to help men and women suffering from a right ventricle failure problem.
At present the Viagra drug is used to help people who suffer from pulmonary arterial hypertension and has saved the lives of many adults and children as a result. In some cases when people have severe arterial problems doctors give them Viagra just to see if it will have any beneficial effect, but they know that they are experimenting and more research needs to be done on the effect of Viagra with the human heart.
Ukmedix News has seen other research that was done on dogs which showed that when they were given Viagra they were much less susceptible to suffering from a heart attack. Ukmedix News hopes that research with Viagra and the heart will be accelerated so that people can benefit from this amazing drug as soon as possible. The research done at the University of Alberta will soon be published in a medical journal called Circulation that is owned by the American Heart Association.
