Another court lower down the scale had ruled that the insurance company should reimburse the man for his Viagra previous to 2003 but in 2004 the law was changed which meant that all public health insurance companies were no longer financially liable for erectile dysfunction medication.
There have been a lot of court cases similar to this in different places around the world and there is always a dilemma as it is difficult to judge whether the men claiming Viagra are doing so purely for recreational purposes or whether they really need it. It seems unfair that a man who really does suffer from erectile dysfunction and who has health insurance is unable to claim. At the same time insurance companies say that they should not be funding men who just want to have more sex for fun.
In America the big state insurance companies do not reimburse patients who buy Viagra however in some cases such as for war veterans they will.
It all comes down to whether a man has a right to have good erectile function or whether having good erectile function at a certain age is a privilege and not a god given right. At Ukmedix News we believe it is more question of priorities and that most men who really need Viagra will be able to economise in some other area to enable themselves to have buy erectile dysfunction medicines and have sex.
