Viagra Keeps Flowers Erect

Written by Stuart Stevens | Monday, 15 January 2007 | There are 0 comments

Crazy but definitely true! Ukmedix has been following the results of experiments that were done to see if by putting crushed tablets of Viagra in the water of roses the flowers would last longer before wilting. The idea was to see if Viagra could have the same effect on a rose as it has on the male sexual organ.

A certain Ya’acov Leshem who is a scientist from Israel did the first research on the properties of Viagra and its possible effects on flowers. In fact his research looked more comprehensively at how Viagra and nitric oxide could help preserve flowers, fruit and vegetables.

In his research he saw that when flowers were treated with nitric oxide they stayed fresher for longer as the compound gives off an enzyme that breaks down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) that is the same process that Viagra facilitates to beat erectile dysfunction in men. When he added Viagra to the flower water the same effects were noted meaning that the flowers stayed erect and fresh for sometimes 2 times longer than the normal flowers. It seems crazy but this is not a prank done by a university student but a serious experiment done by a trained scientist. There must have been a few laughs in the lab when it was seen that Viagra had this effect on flowers.
The Israeli scientist is not the only person to have conducted experiments with the use of crushed Viagra in flower water as our research team at Ukmedix have come across other experiments using even a little vodka and even fizzy drinks to preserve flowers. However in all the experiments the Viagra performed the best with different types of flowers staying erect for longer than with other materials.

You need about 10mg of Viagra finely crushed and mixed in with distilled water to give the best effect and by doing this you should be able to extend the life of the flowers by around double. Many men it appears would rather put their Viagra to more conventional uses despite the effects on the opposite sex of long lasting flowers!
