The fake impotence medication problem in the United Arab Emirates seems to be growing. The United Arab Emirates which is placed in between Asia and Europe is known to be a major port where fake erectile dysfunction medication passes through. The criminals that sell the fake Viagra, Cialis and Levitra tablets have managed to infiltrate legitimate supply lines and thus much of the fake erectile dysfunction tablets end up in legitimate and legal pharmacies. The pharmacists themselves are unaware that they are selling illegal medication which could be dangerous.
A member of senior management from the drug company Pfizer has been warning pharmacies in the United Arab Emirates for some time to be on the watch out for fake Viagra tablets and has been liaising and working with the government of the nation to try and put a halt to the dangerous practice. Dr El Hakim said that once illegal supplies of Viagra entered the legitimate supply chain it was extremely difficult to prevent the tablets ending up in shops and pharmacies.
Sometimes it is suspected that the pharmacies themselves do know that they are selling fake Viagra but very conveniently turn a blind eye because they make much bigger profits with it. When and if the pharmacists are caught they just deny all knowledge and say that they thought they were selling the real thing.
The statistics for the amount of Viagra sold are staggering. It is estimated that almost 30 million men in around hundred and twenty different countries have been given prescriptions for the drug. It is likely that many more millions of men have used the drug illegally in a counterfeit form. Viagra is known to be one of the most copied and counterfeited medications in the world.
Most of the fake Viagra found on the market today is made in India and in China and the majority of the sales take place on the internet. It is very important to check the integrity of any online pharmacy and to make sure that they always provide a prescription and that they are selling the real medication and not dangerous fake versions of it.
