Veterans are often accorded special treatment when it comes to health care

In Australia men who have fought for their country gets special exemptions which allow them to get free Viagra or the other erectile dysfunction drugs Cialis or Levitra. In fact this generous gesture from the Australian taxpayer has cost them almost 12 million Australian dollars the equivalent of £6 million over a four year period. In all 165,000 prescriptions have been issued the majority of which are for Pfizer’s Viagra which is the best selling erectile dysfunction drug in Australia and in most nations around the world.

Veterans Getting Free Viagra Down Under

Veterans are often accorded special treatment when it comes to health care because of the feeling that they have given so much for the country that it is wrong to make them pay for medicine. In the case of erectile dysfunction medication it has been argued that the stress of fighting in battle can actually be responsible for the erection problems. In fact many of the veterans are not elderly and in seemingly good health. In order to become eligible for free Viagra tablets it is necessary however to show that the cause of the erectile dysfunction is not linked to the use of other medications or alcohol and drug abuse.

Some people argue that all men should be allowed to get as much free erectile dysfunction medication as they argue that sexual problems are like any other medical problem and should be treated free by the state. This poses problems because in fact giving out unlimited free Viagra would create a great deal of abuse with many men using it when they didn’t really need to.

The drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra need to be controlled because firstly they are prescription medications and secondly using too much of them can create a psychological dependency on them which is hard to get rid of. We have reported at Ukmedix News about men who find it difficult to perform well in the bedroom without the drugs despite having good sexual health because they feel less confident without them.
