A man is blaming the erectile dysfunction medication Viagra for making him behave in a perverse way. Mr. Neil Smith mentioned the Viagra drug as part of his defence after he was caught filming a woman getting changed after swimming at the Hillsborough Leisure Centre in Sheffield. Mr. Smith who was arrested in possession of a whole lot of Peeping Tom tools admitted to the charge of voyeurism and was given 3 years community order as well as compulsory attendance of a sex offender programme. He also received a sex offender probation order.

When the police arrested him along with the digital video camera they found a ruler which was attached to it to enable him to get better viewing angles of his chosen victims. They also found him in possession of a vibrating male masturbating device, a bottle of lubricant, a used swimming costume and a mirror. When the police searched Mr. Smith they found a memory card hidden inside one of his socks which contained video images of a number of other women changing.
The idea that Mr. Smith only committed these crimes because of Viagra is pretty indefensible because Viagra does not enhance sexual desire in any way and can only be responsible for producing better erectile function. It is important that men understand the difference between good erectile function and high levels of sexual desire. All of the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra merely boost blood flow to the penile artery in response to existing levels of sexual desire and stimulation.
Judge Simon Lawler explained that Mr. Neil was lucky not to go to prison for his crimes and the using the Viagra defence and the fact that his wife was going through menopause did not justify the gross invasion of privacy which filming women in changing rooms constituted.
