New Reports On Viagra For Women

Following a study by researchers from the Medical College of Georgia there have been a number of press reports saying that medications used to treat sexual problems in men, namely Viagra, Cialis and Levitra could also be effective in treating female sexual dysfunction

Kyan Allahdadi, Rita Tostes, and Clinton Webb explained that like male sexual dysfunction, female sexual dysfunction can sometimes result because of poor blood flow to the female genital area and that the class of drugs called PDE-5 inhibitors can help women too in this respect.
The researchers used lab rats for their research and saw that both the male and female pudendal arteries which are responsible for blood supply to the respective sexual organs responded to a dose of Viagra, Cialis or Levitra. They also noted that the female internal pudendal arteries responded particularly well to Viagra at lower doses and they suggested that it was possible that the commonly known impotence drugs actually function differently in male and female rats.
There has actually been a huge amount of discussion about whether male erectile dysfunction drugs have any effect on women. Some women say that using Viagra actually works for them but clinical studies done with Viagra on women by the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer who manufactures it were inconclusive and deemed not to show sufficiently good results for further studies to continue.
At Ukmedix News we have seen a lot of reports regarding the use of male erectile dysfunction drugs on women and if there was really a significant physical effect of the drug on women it is unlikely that Pfizer would not know about it, and would not be marketing the drug to women also. A “female Viagra” would earn billions of dollars for any pharmaceutical company that could come up with something which really worked.
It could be that the Viagra drugs have a considerable placebo effect on women who are given it. Women respond far more to emotional and psychological stimuli when it comes to sexual arousal whereas men respond to more physical stimuli. A drug called Intrinsa also helps many women with sexual desire.
