A major bust of fake medication has been announced by the customs authorities in Malaysia. Not only did they intercept a huge amount of fake Viagra but also tablets of the dangerous and illegal compound pseudoephedrine.

Green Viagra And Ecstasy Compound Found In Customs Raid

This seizure of the fake medication which took place at Port Klang was initiated by a tip-off to police which was passed on to customs authorities. The shipment which had originated from Cairo, Egypt was sealed in its container and special equipment had to be used to open it. Customs authorities speculated that the tablets had been made in Syria and had just passed through Egypt on their way to Malaysia.

The fake Viagra tablets were green in colour which a trick often used by manufacturers of fake pills to give the impression that the medicine is natural. Even though this trick is extremely obvious and the packaging of many fake medications are green also, the fact is that it does work in convincing gullible people that what they are taking is harmless.

The scale of the business of fake erectile dysfunction medication worldwide is huge and is a major money earner for organised crime syndicates around the world. The manufacture of fake Viagra tablets has also been linked to terrorist groups in different parts of the world which has led to calls for people who buy counterfeit medication to be made aware of the consequences of their actions. Buying fake medication is not just dangerous for your health but could also mean that you are funding criminal and terrorist organisations worldwide.

One of the drugs found in this shipment pseudoephedrine, is not only used as a very dangerous weight loss medication but can also be used to manufacture far more dangerous methamphetamine drugs like Ecstasy. In fact a spokesman for the Health Ministry's pharmaceutical division and the Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry explained that they believed that this shipment was not just about the illegal trade of weight loss and impotence medication but also mind altering stimulant drugs.
