The EU is stepping up its campaign to prevent the sale of fake medications after the European Parliamentary Committee for Health initiated a new set of regulations for the sale of all drugs not only in shops but also on the internet. The MEP’s said that the new legislation will mean that certain medications will require special seals so they can’t be tampered with.

Another useful initiative was to make sure that the serial numbers of drugs will be displayed not only on the blister packs inside boxes but also on the outside of the packaging. This will prevent fake medication getting into the legal supply chain when it is repackaged.
It is not just erectile dysfunction meds and weight loss drugs which are being counterfeited but also painkillers, anti-malaria tablets and even cancer drugs with often fatal consequences.
The European Commission also spoke about future legislation which would control the internet sales of medications and prevent criminal organisations from targeting unsuspecting patients. Ms. Marisa Matias speaking on behalf of the European Parliament described the sale of fake medication as a pharmaceutical crime and said that these medications were “silent killers”.Some of the
MEP’s however said that more needed to be done and that the rules governing the sale of drugs needed to be stricter. At Ukmedix News we’ve observed that internet pharmacies play a very important role in getting access to certain drugs that many individuals would not otherwise be able to get access to.
For example internet pharmacies allow men to discuss impotence problems and get proper medical help in the form of Viagra, Cialis and Levitra that they may be loath to get if they have to get sit facing a doctor or purchase in their local pharmacy.
Ukmedix uses a network of UK based pharmacies and allows all customers to get the address of their dispensing pharmacy so that they have complete peace of mind that the medication they are buying is both genuine and legally prescribed.

The very word FAKE shows what sort of people are selling these medicines. They are as fake as the medicines they are selling! Get rid of them! It should be a police prioroty to hound them down.
