A man has been charged with importing and selling a so called herbal product which he said could protect you from all types of influenza including the lethal H5N1 bird flu virus. The man Mr. Charles Hensley pleaded not guilty after he was arrested by the Southern California Import Task Force with some help from the United States Postal Inspection Service. 

We are highlighting this case at Ukmedix News because it is typical of many influenza medication scams which are going on at the moment. The product which is called Vira 38 was supposedly manufactured by PRB Pharmaceuticals and was described as a broad spectrum anti-viral medication. The product literature also stated that it contained compounds that were known to stop the bird flu virus specifically mentioning the H5N1 strain.

That is a pretty audacious claim to make especially when the H5N1 bird flu virus kills around 50 percent of those people who contract it. In fact it is not just audacious but criminally irresponsible and could potentially lead to people dying. Anybody with a brain cell would immediately realize that this product was useless, but unfortunately not everybody out there is streetwise enough to spot these scams and may actually use it to treat influenza.

There are only a number of ways to treat influenza and herbal remedies are definitely not on the list! Getting a flu vaccine, using one of the two FDA and the EMEA approved influenza medications Tamiflu or Relenza, staying healthy, washing your hands and taking common sense precautions to stay away from other people with influenza are the only tried and tested remedies.

Herbal remedies for influenza are not subject to the strange and regulations and rules which pharmaceutical companies have to adhere to in order to produce Tamiflu and Relenza. Ukmedix News has come across reports of herbal medication being made in filthy unhygienic conditions in third world countries. Not only are you risking your health by buying these dangerous medication but you are also funding criminal organizations.
