Bird Flu Not Mutating...For Now

Scientists will have to wait until the bird flu virus mutates...

The World Health Organization which recently received hundreds of bird flu samples from Indonesia has confirmed that at present the H5N1 bird flu virus has not mutated into a type which is possible to be passed between humans. This is very good news for the moment and which should make scientists all over the globe breathe a deep sigh of relief.

Bird Flu Not Mutating...For Now

The Indonesian government had recently decided to start sharing bird flu samples again after coming to an agreement with the World Health Organization about the use of any samples that come from Indonesia. They had previously voiced concerns that international drug companies would be profiteering from bird flu vaccines that could only be made with the help of Indonesia.

At Ukmedix News we understand that it is extremely important that all bird flu samples are shared from all different parts of the world so that the way that the bird flu virus is changing can be closely and quickly monitored. The scientists feel that if they are made immediately aware that the H5N1 virus is changing they can warm the world to be extra vigilant and careful when dealing with birds and also get themselves into a position where they can produce a bird flu vaccine.

One of the biggest problems that scientists face today is that because the H5N1 flu virus has not mutated into a form that is contagious between humans they are unable to produce a vaccine to counteract it. Scientists will have to wait until the bird flu virus mutates into the dangerous mutating form before they can start to work on a vaccine to kill it. The concerns are that in this period where the virus is dangerous to humans and until a vaccine is developed to counteract it thousands of people could die.
