The good news is that Ukmedix has located a new supply of Relenza the flu anti viral medication. Relenza is not as plentiful as Tamiflu but some researchers say that is as effective as Tamiflu in beating the bird flu virus and may become essential if the H5N1 flu virus becomes Tamiflu resistant.
The drug company GlaxoSmithKline makes Relenza and a recent announcement by the company is that they will be investing heavily in Relenza manufacturing plants to boost the supply of the flu drug. Following in the lead set by Roche for its drug Tamiflu, GSK will also be looking at issuing licencing agreement so that other drug companies can produce Relenza on their behalf. In all GSK will be investing in the region of more than two billion US dollars in order to get up to full capacity and manufacturing for the Relenza flu drug.
GSK is also investing ion the development of a new H5N1 pandemic vaccine that they say could be used to vaccinate whole populations before a bird flu pandemic strikes. GSK said that the new drug will boost the body’s natural immune system and will also protect the person from the likely mutations of the H5N1 bird flu virus.
Some doctors advise that you stock up with both Tamiflu and with Relenza as they are unsure which way the bird flu virus will mutate and it could mean that Relenza would be more effective than Tamiflu or vice versa.
Relenza is different to Tamiflu in that it in inhaled in the form of a powder so it takes effect very quickly but it is difficult to administer to young children. Tamiflu comes in the form of pills. Both Relenza and Tamiflu require a doctor’s prescription that can be obtained online from Ukmedix provided that you go through an online consultation.
