Fake Tamiflu is that latest entrant to the online criminal organisations aresenal of drugs and is selling quickly due to the avian flu scares worldwide. Tamilflu is made by Roche in Switzerland. The World Health Organisation reckons that as much as ten percent of all drugs and medicines in the world's marketplace are misleadingly labelled or just completely counterfeit.
At a conference in Rome recently pharmaceutical industry executives and health professionals have decided to create an organisation to combat the fake drug trade. The head of the Int. Fed. of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Associations noted that counterfeit drugs were more likely to be found in poor nations than in rich countries. Howver he also said that the richer countries were often being duped online. He said that it was important that the new organisation, in order to stop this trade looked carefully into the online sales of these drugs.
