Bird Flu Season Hits

This time of year is when the bird flu cases start to appear. We have reports of cases of bird flu in Japan, Nigeria, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia and Russia just to mention a few. At present most of the cases are limited to birds and only a few people who have had very close contact with the birds catch the virus.
However what this quick spread of bird flu in birds tells us is how dangerous the disease would be to human of it started to spread in humans and was as contagious the effects could be devastating. These days humans move around the world as much as bird do and so the spread worldwide could mean that flights would have to be cancelled and strict rules on the movement of goods and people would have to be put into place all over the globe. It could also mean that people would be forced to stay indoors for days and that shops and offices would be deserted as people waited for the bird flu scare to subside.
The World Health Organisation reckons that the bird flu pandemic could cost the world's economy billions and billions of dollars. If a bird flu pandemic hits in a poorer country of the world it is likely that their fragile economy would be completely wiped out and the flu could mean hunger and lack of essential goods would be the result.
In richer countries the effects would also be terrible but most governments have in place fully stocked hospitals and carefully worked out contingency plans to deal with the pandemic. They also have Tamiflu and Relenza that are the two best drugs for patients with the bird flu as well as special equipment for the containment of the virus and its treatment.
Ukmedix can supply both Tamiflu and Relenza from licenced UK pharmacists. Both flu drugs require a prescription that can be issued provided that you have an online consultation with an Ukmedix doctor.
