Swine Flu Testing Ban In Dubai

The swine flu virus which has spread all around the world now has been the subject of much debate recently especially for example in Dubai, where the government has clamped down on private hospitals performing expensive swine flu tests. There have been hundreds of cases of predatory pricing of both testing and of medications which play on people’s fears.
In one case reported by one of the larger newspapers in Dubai, The National, a hospital was charging almost £170 for a swine flu test which was not necessary in the majority of cases.

The health ministry of Dubai said that they would soon be issuing an order telling private hospitals not to do swine flu testing and warning them about the consequences if they continued to do so. One doctor however commented that while the vast majority of cases were negative for the swine flu it helped to calm people down especially those who mistakenly believed that their flu was very severe and that they could be suffering from the H1N1 variant.
The World Health Organisation for example has stated very clearly that people who suffer from flu symptoms but who have no other health complications did not need to be tested for the H1N1 swine flu virus and did not automatically require Tamiflu or Relenza.
The other worrying development surrounding swine flu is that people in their panic to get their hands on either Tamiflu or Relenza actually respond to spam e-mails which advertise it. Some reports that we have come across at Ukmedix News show that Tamiflu spam is almost as prevalent as spam for the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra. It is estimated that well over 50 percent of the Tamiflu drug sold online is counterfeit and people should be extra vigilant about checking up the origin of all online medications.
Ukmedix uses a special system called Pharmacheck which allows you to get the name and address of the dispensing pharmacy in the United Kingdom. It also allows you to check the batch numbers of your drugs so that you can confirm that your drugs are genuine directly with the manufacturer Roche.

I cannot understand why Dubai of all places in the world, is banning a health test, it's not as though they cannot afford it! I would have believed that they would want a healthy country..not one that is riddled with swine flu whilst the truth is hidden!!!!

This article makes it sound like they are banning swine flu tests in Dubai, which is not the case. They just must be done by the government hospitals in order to stop the private hospitals from taking advantage of people since the only thing they care about is making money. @Antonio Razza, everyone in Dubai is not rich. If you came here you would see that the vast majority of the population is very poor and it is really great that the government is taking steps to try to protect people from the money hungry hospitals here that love to do all sorts of unnecessary tests just to run up the bills.

As usual everything that has to do with GCC countries has to be made look bad. That's western propoganda, knowing these countries actually care for the citizens. They forgett that these countries carry most of their citizens who couldn't have a normal life in their on country. Must be jeaulousy that there are not as many cases here of swineflu than in the western world and far Eastern country. Please stop accusing these governments of hiding things and spreading these bad news. Would they like all their citizens to go back to their countries causing a major inflation with no jobs, which people will be poor than? And which people are opening these so called professional Hospitals stealing peoples money, let's see....exactly. If in this country people were not happy, the ruler should be more worried about his safety correct? Have you ever seen any bodyguards protecting him?
Please live and let live, nobody in this part of the world likes to go back home even if they earn little salary. We all know it's better than back home were ever that may be. And if you don't like it here than you can always go back home.To the great cold weather, no beach next to your home, no maid to give You a nice relaxing life. No chanel shoes or LV handbags, Diamond earrings and Dior diamond watch. No private high calliber schools for your kids. No driver to drop and pick them up. What about that beautiful villa with pool.
HMMMMM what a bad life we have here..................
Be grateful for being able to live such a luxereous life and enjoy the weather most of the time. We should all have a picture of these rulers who make it possible for all of us to own our own businesses and homes without paying 50% of our income on taxes. Stop talking and start living and be gratefull for what you have.Am not a local but from europe to and am very ashamed of peoples complaints attacking governments and rulers. I actually am proud to be a part of this great nation and already have a picture of the rulers here From all the sheikhs. Because I remember who made it possible for me to have a better life than back home.
