Recent figures released by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) shows that the number of cosmetic surgery operations conducted in the United Kingdom continues to rise. In all it is estimated that over 43,000 people had cosmetic surgery in 2011 showing a rise of almost six percent compared to 2010./p>

Often tummy tucks are accompanied by a liposuction operation which removes excess fat from around the stomach and in some cases it can be implanted in a different part of the body such as the buttocks to give them a better and more aesthetically pleasing shape.
Women had almost 39,000 cosmetic operations compared to only 4,300 for men. The most popular cosmetic procedure is still breast enhancement surgery for women with just over 10,000 operations being conducted in 2011. There were 790 instances of men opting for breast enhancement surgery too.
Despite the recent PIP breast implant scandal it appears that women are still coming forward to have their breasts made bigger and implants inserted. The popularity of cosmetic surgery is only likely to grow over the next decade and is increasingly becoming socially acceptable among all groups of society.
In the UK the proportion of men and women who have cosmetic surgery is tiny compared to the proportion that has cosmetic surgery in South America and in parts of North America like Florida and California. Nevertheless if current trends continue becoming a cosmetic surgeon in the UK could be extremely lucrative!
Some UK plastic surgeons have become extremely skilled which means the surgery they do is almost undetectable and looks completely natural. The advice from Ukmedix News is to be extremely careful and discerning when choosing a plastic surgeon to make sure that they are both competent and safe.
