Plastic surgeons will exploit any weaknesses in your perception about yourself

Kathy Griffin, the American actress and standup comedian has a bit to say about liposuction in her book ‘A Memoir According To Kathy Griffin’ after it nearly killed her. She said that women really should know exactly “what lipo looks like” before they go ahead with the operation and consider working out in the gym a little bit more instead! Liposuction is a very serious medical procedure which should not be seen as a simple alternative to a healthy diet and regular exercise. Liposuction comes with a lot of risks and involves a full anesthetic which always carries a certain amount of danger.

In her book Kathy Griffin also states that she once had an obsession with the way she looked and now wishes that she had not spent so much time worrying about it. She claims that she was pressurised into getting a nose job at the age of 26 after she was told by plastic surgeons that she would get more work “if it wasn’t for her nose”. She now realises that the plastic surgeons were talking rubbish because people don’t come to see stand up comedians because they’re good looking but because they are funny!

Kathy Griffin also tells us that she became obsessed with her weight and admits to having used the illegal drug speed as well as other dangerous weight loss drugs to boost her metabolism. Kathy Griffin is one of those people who regrets having wasted so much time fretting and worrying about her image when she should have been just getting on with her life.

Plastic surgeons will exploit any weaknesses in your perceptions about yourselves in order to get business. No plastic surgeon will tell you that your nose is OK or that your breasts are a good natural size. Be objective about the way you perceive yourself and focus on your good points rather than the bad ones so that you don’t end up wasting your time like Kathy Griffin.
