We gave our editor Stuart Stevens a new nose
Thinking of having a nose job? Well before you run off to have an expensive rhinoplasty consultation in a swanky plastic surgery clinic why not stop for a second and download a new iPhone application which will allow you to visualize how you would look after the nose surgery? The application which has been launched by an enterprising plastic surgeon called
Dr. Richard Rival from Canada can be downloaded onto the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. /p>
We tried it out in the Ukmedix Newsroom and it is pretty simple to use and it works like this. Firstly you take a photograph, [or get somebody else to do it] of your profile clearly showing your nose outline and then you use the various controls to for example take out an ugly bump, give yourself a small upturn at the end of your nose or even just play around with it until you find a nose which you feel suits you perfectly. We recently published research on the Ukmedix News website which shows that men and women who opt for digital imaging consultations before they undergo surgery are far more likely to be happy with the results. Having clear images of what your nose will look like after the surgery is not only good for you to be able to see what you will look like, but it also clears up any misunderstandings you could have with your plastic surgeon.
We had a lot of fun in the Ukmedix Newsroom with this iPhone app and one of the things we decided to do was to give our editor Stuart Stevens a new nose. We want to make clear that there was nothing wrong with his old nose and that this was done purely for research purposes but nevertheless we are sure he is happy with the results and who knows maybe he may be tempted to go for his new look?
