Most of the reports which come to the Ukmedix Newsroom concerning the dangers of liposuction tend to concern operations done in America where the huge quantity of cheap cosmetic surgical procedures done means that accidents are bound to happen sometimes. However sometimes liposuction goes wrong closer to home in the UK./p>

Colin Hendry, the former Blackpool FC manager knows all about the dangers of liposuction after losing his wife who went in for a routine corrective procedure last year. Denise Hendry who suffered from the effects of a serious infection after a previous liposuction operation went seriously wrong, ended up having her small intestine and her colon being perforated in nine separate places.

As a result of these perforations she suffered from poisoning of the blood, kidney failure and an eventual heart attack which even though they didn't kill her led to her having to spend a long time in hospital.

The last years of Denise Henry's life were catalogue of health problems caused by botched cosmetic surgery and despite huge payouts by insurance companies her family will never get over the pain of losing her. An inquest into the cause of her death has not been finalized yet and her family said that until this is done they won't be able to put the whole thing behind them.

The way we see it at Ukmedix News is that liposuction is a risky procedure and therefore you are much better off losing weight using a healthy diet and exercise. Not only is this a better for you because it reduces the chances of you suffering from a whole range of different health complications from cancer to heart disease but also will mean that you don't expose yourself to the risks of anesthetics, poor surgery and the chance of serious infections.

Think carefully before undergoing liposuction, maybe the money would be better spent getting a personal trainer or going to a health farm for a few months.
