A very determined transsexual has lost her court case appeal in which she argued that she had the right to breast augmentation surgery and that it should be paid for by the National Health Service. The person in question who was only referred to as ‘C’ only recently had her case thrown out but continued with the appeal for a judicial review.

Arguing that her human rights were being denied and that she was a victim of unlawful sex discrimination ‘C’ demanded that her local health authority should pay £2,300 for the breast enlargement operation so that she could be described as a complete woman. Because she is already classified as a person suffering from Gender dysphoria she is entitled to hormonal treatment which often produces breasts naturally however in her case she remained flat-chested. C who is 58 years old changed her sex over ten years ago but claimed that the failure of her breasts to develop had left her in a psychological and physical no man’s land. (Er or no-woman’s land?)
Mr Justice Bean said that there was no reason why “all treatment and procedures” demanded by transsexuals should be given high priority. In effect what he’s saying is that women do not have the right to large breasts and if he had legislated to allow her to get the operation there is no reason why all women in the United Kingdom who felt that they were not physically developed enough could not also apply for free breast enlargement operations.
In fact, Mr Justice Bean should have pointed out that some men actually find flat-chested women extremely attractive and that ‘C’ should not think that big breasts were the solution to her problems. He could have maybe come up with a list of beautiful women such as Kate Hudson, Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman all of whom cannot be mistaken for anything other than beautiful women despite having tiny breasts.

This isn't about "large breasts" as you put it. if "C" feels that she doesn't have the appropriate size breasts, it is going to affect how she see's herself, and how others see her. This is offered to other women on the NHS, and it is well understood and known, that transsexual women may need breast augmentation surgery, but any kind of treatment for transsexual people is seen as unpopular, and is an easy target for the idiots and bigots in our society.
