Along with another warning about an illegal version of the impotence medicine Viagra, the health authorities of Canada have warned all people to be on their watch in case they come across a weight loss product that is going by the name of Qing Zhi.
Qing Zhi comes in the form of an unlabelled box that does not have the correct Drug Identification Numbers on it and is in fact not herbal or traditional as stated but is in fact a product with a powerful prescription only weight loss drug in it called sibutramine. Sibutramine is the active ingredient in the weight loss remedy called Reductil or Meridia that works by suppressing the desire to eat in patients.
Sibutramine is only licenced to be used by obese people who have tried other weight loss remedies and have been unable to lose weight and requires a doctor’s supervision and prescription.
It is likely that the Qing Zhi medication is also being sold on the Internet and you may also receive emails in the form of spam telling you to buy the product. Reductil that is made by the drug company Abbott Laboratories is the only product that is licenced to use the sibutramine drug according to the term of their worldwide patent.
If you have been using this illegal products you are advised to go and see a doctor immediately and show him or her the medicine explaining that you have been informed that it contains sibutramine.
Reductil is perfectly harmless when used by the right people and in the right doses. It can however cause high blood pressure in certain people and if you have a history of heart problems you are advised not to use it. At Ukmedix we also warn people that they must also make an effort with their diets for Reductil to be very effective. No weight loss drug will do all the dieting for you but will only be able to give you that extra push that is so often needed by dieters.
