The national health authority in Canada, Health Canada has put out an urgent warning telling people to stay away from a weight loss product called Slim Magic Herbal. The product, contrary to what the name is designed to suggest is neither ‘herbal’ nor ‘magic’. To be honest anyone who was stupid enough to use a product which was called Slim Magic Herbal should really be going to see a doctor not about their weight but about their common sense.

These sorts of products which are designed to prey on the insecurities of overweight people with direct messages in their names are dangerous as well as being useless. The product is basically suggesting that you can get slim in a magic way using herbs which is ridiculous. Nevertheless the product appears to have been sold all over Canada and online right around the world.
Health Canada warned that in fact Slim Magic Herbal contains a compound called glucomannan which is designed to absorb water and expand in the gut however it can also be extremely dangerous because if it over expands it can obstruct the esophagus leading to severe health problems.
Not only this, but the product was also found to contain an illegally manufactured compound called sibutramine. Sibutramine is in fact allowed to be made on licence by the pharmaceutical company Abbott in the form of a prescription weight loss medication called Reductil however there have been no clinical tests done on the use of the sibutamine compound in Slim Magic Herbal or with its use concurrently with glucomannan. Sibutramine has only been clinically tested in the drug Reductil.
Reductil is one of the most effective weight loss and appetite suppressant medications in the world but is not designed for use by every single person. People who use the active ingredient of Reductil in other medications where it is not properly controlled open themselves up to the risk of heart problems. Would you for example use a fake version of aspirin or panadol which was called Herbal Pain Magic? If you did and then you became ill you would look pretty stupid trying to explain to your friends and family exactly why.
Weight loss medication can help you lose weight but you should always go down the proper channels and speak to a doctor before you use it. People who use fake versions of weight loss medications normally end up regretting it as the recent Ukmedix report on Natasha Henstridge confirms.
