Yet another health warning regarding the use of slimming supplements has come to our attention at Ukmedix. In this case 3 separate slimming products were found to contain the prescription only sibutramine drug. Sibutramine is a legal drug only if it is used in Reductil the weight loss drug made by Abbott Laboratories. Any other form of the drug is illegal and potentially dangerous to take.
In this recent warning the sibutramine drug was found in products called Jacaranda, Queenmer Fat Loss and a Chinese sounding supplement called Li Da Dai Dai Hua Jiao Nang. We take these warnings very seriously at Ukmedix as the inappropriate usage of sibutramine can be dangerous and in some cases with the wrong people fatal. What makes these products even more dangerous is that the people taking them are normally completely unaware that they are taking a controlled prescription drug that is contraindicated with other medicines and for people with certain health conditions.
In Reductil sibutramine works very effectively as an appetite suppressant and is allowed to be prescribed to men and women who are obese. Obese people in clinical testing have been shown to lose more weight when taking Reductil than those obese people who took the placebo.
However while Reductil has shown to be safe with most people it can cause problems for people with heart disease and other illnesses and that is why a medical consultation online or otherwise is always required before use. At Ukmedix we are seeing more and more of these warnings regarding the use of weight loss supplements and a lot of them are sold online by illegal websites that make false and dangerous promises.
The MHRA in the UK has recently warned about using weight loss supplements that are bought online and at Ukmedix we advise that you should only use a weight loss supplement if your doctor says you can use it. Most of these illegal weight loss supplements are made in China and some have been responsible for deaths. If you have been using any of the above supplements you should immediately stop using them and get a check up from your doctor informing him of what you have been taking.
