used by millions of men worldwide.

An extensive new study done on the best selling hair loss medication Propecia [finasteride] has confirmed that it does slow down male pattern baldness and even increases hair growth in men. The research which was conducted by Dr José Manuel Mella based at the Hospital Aleman in Buenos Aires merely confirms what every other Propecia study has shown. Propecia has become the most tested hair loss medication in history and is used by millions of men worldwide.

For this study Dr Mella and his colleagues analyzed existing medical writings about Propecia and studied the results of twelve clinical studies which involved almost 4,000 men. He said that those men who used the Propecia experienced a 30% improvement in their hair after two years.

Doctor Mella also talked about the rare sexual side effects which around one percent of men complain about but noted that despite some men reporting decreased erectile function, they sometimes preferred to have hair and therefore continued to use the Propecia. In all clinical testing it has been seen that the sexual side effects of using the hair loss drug Propecia disappear immediately when use of the drug is stopped.

The research which was published by the respected Archives of Dermatology doesn't really contain any new information about Propecia but nevertheless it will confirm to many men who are using this hair loss drug that they are using the treatment which is most likely to prevent male pattern baldness or to give it its clinical name, androgenetic alopecia.

The manufacturers of Propecia, Merck say that one of the reasons why it is such a popular drug for male pattern baldness is that it is so easy to take. All it involves is one small tablet every day and does not require complicated and time consuming lotions to be applied to the scalp.
