Tom Hanks Could Be Using Propecia

Written by Stuart Stevens | Thursday, 25 May 2006

Ukmedix is receiving reports that the Oscar winning Hollywood star Tom Hanks may be using the hair loss drug Propecia made by Merck. Propecia is a very effective hair loss drug and is used by millions of men worldwide and probably by quite a few Hollywood actors whose appearance is important to their careers.

The official line coming from Tom Hanks' people was a clear 'no comment'  but in the past Tom Hanks has admitted to using some hair restoration products. Propecia is a very popular drug not only because it works but also because it so easy to take. It comes in the form of a small tablet that needs to be taken once a day. Many hair loss products involve a time consuming application of shampoos and lotions to the scalp and many men can't be bothered with this and either forget to apply the treatments or just stop using them all together. Propecia also produces very few side effects in the men that use it.

To take Propecia you need to receive a prescription from the doctor and a check up from a trichologist is important too. Men assume that when they lose their hair that it is genetic and heriditary and in nearly all cases it is, but in rare cases the hair loss could be from other issues such as stress and anxiety or even from the use of certain medication. Getting a scalp check up is always a sensible idea before undertaking any hair loss treatment.

Since Propecia was launched by Merck it has become one of the world's most sought after hair loss treatments for men.
