Yet another sportsman has got himself into trouble for using the hair-loss drug Propecia that is made by the drug firm Merck. The football player and former Australian national winger Mr. Stan Lazaridis was recently tested for drugs and his results showed that he had been using the banned substance finasteride which is the active ingredient in the hair-loss drug Propecia.

At present Mr. Stan Lazaridis who is 34 years old is playing for the club Perth Glory which is an A league club. The announcement was made on the web site of the club. Stan is known in the UK as he had played for West Ham United and also Birmingham City.
Ukmedix News has come across quite a few similar stories like this. Propecia is considered to be the most effective hair-loss drug on the market and thus the temptation for sportsman like Stan to use it is very great. It has no performance enhancing capabilities but research has shown but it is capable of hiding the traces of other and performance enhancing drugs that other sportsmen maybe tempted to use. Some of the sportsmen who have been caught using Propecia have claimed that they had no idea that it was a banned substance and that their subsequent ban from playing in the sport was very unfair.
Nevertheless The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority has made it very clear that finasteride is not to be used by man participating in professional sports. Stan Lazaridis has been given special permission to use Propecia but this permission was only granted after he had been tested at the end of last year. The ban that he is likely to receive will be especially upsetting for him as he is now coming to the end of his career.
Propecia that is used by over 4 million men worldwide has a success rate of a over 80 percent. Some lucky men even re grow their hair. Ukmedix News considers Propecia to be the safest most tested and most effective hair-loss remedy on the market today.
