Fake Data Presented In Female Viagra Clinical Trial

A company which was involved in providing clinical research data regarding a drug called Flibanserin touted to be a female Viagra has been fined heavily for falsifying patient records which gave the impression that the female sex drug was much more effective than it really was.

PPS Clinical Research pleaded guilty to the federal obstruction charge after admitting that one of their employees had handed over research data to Boehringer Ingelheim in such a way that made it very difficult for them to realize that the records were not correct. The lawyer acting on behalf of PPS Clinical Research, Jim Crowe said that the individual was suffering from health issues and that the president of the company Mr. Richard Muckerman should not be held liable.
As a result of this incident it may be that the FDA will ban Mr. Richard Muckerman from taking part in any future medical trials. The falsifying of medical data obviously has a huge impact on the likelihood of FDA approval and could lead to very severe health incidents should an unsafe or ineffective drug be approved.
There have been millions of pounds invested in research and development for drugs to treat female sexual dysfunction because pharmaceutical companies realize how much money, how popular and financially lucrative the male sexual drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are.
Unfortunately, for these pharmaceutical companies women are very different from men when it comes to sex! Female sexual dysfunction tends to be more of a psychological problem rather than a vascular problem as it is in the case of men. You cannot just rely on boosting blood flow to the genital region to make a woman enjoy sex more like you can with men.
At present the only drug available to treat female sexual dysfunction is the testosterone patch Intrinsa. Intrinsa is a prescription medication available following an online consultation with a doctor at the Ukmedix web site.
