A new research project done at Utrecht University in Holland has resulted in British men winning the top prize in a bedroom survey. Scientists looking into the issue of premature ejaculation said that overall men in the UK had the greatest stamina and staying power with an average of ten minutes before climaxing.

Almost 500 men were recruited to take part in this study and a whole range of different nationalities was subjected to timed lovemaking sessions. Citizens from America came in second with an average of eight minutes before climaxing and the bronze medal went to the Dutch with 6 minutes, 30 seconds. Spanish men who are often considered to be among the world's best lovers could not even manage half of the British staying power with a time of under 5 minutes but they did beat Turkish men who came last with less than 4 minutes, 30 seconds.
The researchers said that the use of condoms which are often thought to slow down ejaculation did not seem to have an impact in this survey however the consumption of alcohol did improve staying power. It is well known that alcohol numbs sensitivity and this is why it is reckoned that in some cases it can improve love making times. You should also be aware however that excessive consumption of alcohol could lead to what is commonly called Brewer's Droop or Whiskey Dick.
It was commented on [possibly sour grapes], that the reason for the British victory was not purely to their intrinsic staying power but could have also been due to the fact that the British are a people whose alcohol consumption is considerable and definitely more than the Spanish and Turks. Out of the 500 volunteers the man who managed to go for the longest lasted for a whopping 52 minutes and the man who lasted the shortest time only got to six seconds before ejaculating. The survey authors did not reveal the nationalities of these two men.
