an orodispersible tablet can be taken without water

The erectile dysfunction drug Levitra could soon be sold in a completely different formulation which will enable it to be effective considerably faster than the regular tablets. Bayer who make the drug Levitra announced that they have submitted an application to the medical authorities in the European Union to sell and market it as an orodispersible tablet containing 10mg of its active ingredient vardenafil.

The advantage of an orodispersible tablet is that it can be taken without water and it dissolves within seconds. Many men say that when presented with a sexual encounter they don’t like to stop the foreplay aspect to go and get a glass of water and erectile dysfunction tablets. With this new Levitra orodispersible tablet it would be possible to discreetly take the tablet without stopping the foreplay aspect and also it will work much quicker too.

Bayer stressed the ‘easy to use’ aspect of their new erectile dysfunction tablets and also highlighted that they would work faster than the regular tablets but did not give the exact figures. They also said that the new Levitra would be the first time that an erectile dysfunction drug had been presented as an orodispersible tablet.

Dr Jean-Philippe Milon who is the head of the business unit of Bayer Schering Pharma explained that the safety and effectiveness of the new Levitra 10mg orodispersible tablet had been clearly demonstrated in two independent clinical Phase III studies and that in both of them the same results were seen as in the regular Levitra 10mg tablets.

The Levitra drug is the least well known of the three erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra however that does not mean that it is the least effective. Clinical tests comparing Viagra and Levitra have shown them to be equally good to treat men suffering from erectile dysfunction and in some of the trials men actually preferred the Levitra.
