Levitra And Tinnitus Link Evaluated

In some cases the noise becomes unbearable

There is some hearsay evidence that the use of the erectile dysfunction drug Levitra can play a part in reducing the effects of the annoying condition known as tinnitus. This problem is described as a high pitched ringing, buzzing, humming or hissing noise which is present in the ears of sufferers. The range of different noises is considerable and can be continuous or intermittent. In some cases the noise becomes unbearable and makes it very difficult for those people who suffer from it to relax.

Levitra And Tinnitus Link Evaluated

A new research project was recently undertaken in order to evaluate clinically whether the Levitra drug was effective or not in treating the tinnitus problem. Led by Birgit Mazurek this study was conducted using a randomised, double blind and placebo controlled format with 42 volunteers all of whom suffered from chronic tinnitus in one or both of their ears.  The volunteers were either given 10mg of Levitra or identical placebo tablets which they were told to take twice a day for twelve weeks.

All of the volunteers were examined after a four week period, at the end of the study and also four weeks after the study finished. They were all asked to complete a questionnaire detailing the different levels of tinnitus that they had experienced over the previous sixteen weeks. They were also evaluated for oxidative stress in their blood using a range of different markers. The results however clearly showed that the use of the Levitra drug had no significant superior effectiveness in treating chronic tinnitus than the placebo pill and therefore the researchers said that using Levitra or any other impotence drugs would not to be recommended to treat the condition.

When discussing this in the Ukmedix newsroom we speculated whether some men who suffered from tinnitus and who used Levitra in order to be able to have sex were so caught up in their sexual activity that they possibly relaxed sufficiently so that they forgot about their problem of chronic tinnitus.

While the Levitra may not have actually had an effect in curing the problem physically it could have enabled sexual activity to occur which made the men focus on other things other than the noise in their ears. Hmmm, it’s just a thought?

you say in the title that the levitra and tinnitus link evaluated - strongly suggesting that there is a link there.. however you then proceed to write that there is no link between the two apart from the fact that a study was carried out to see if there was a link!

I could write an article that Viagra was linked to nail biting if i could get some willing idiots to fill in a questionnaire...what a load of crap and a waste of time..

Hundreds if not thousands of men reported to their doctors the link between the use of Levitra and the reduction of symptoms of tinnitus. I have yet to find reports of Viagra linked to nail biting but will of course be looking out for them.
