The German pharmaceutical giant Bayer has released its financial results and the figures look extremely good. One of the reasons for the strong performance of Bayer this year has been the good sales of its erectile dysfunction drug Levitra. Levitra is the third most popular erectile dysfunction drug in the world after the drug made by Pfizer (Viagra) and the drug made by Eli Lilly (Cialis).

Many people reckon that because it is the third most popular drug in the world that it is not as effective as the other two, however clinical testing has shown this not to be true, in fact Levitra is just as good as Viagra and some men even say it’s better. After all the three erectile dysfunction drugs on the market today all actually work in exactly the same way. They are all PDE-5  inhibitors and are all if you like 'cousins' of each other. Levitra like Viagra works for four hours and it has exactly the same side effects and has exactly the same success rate in men with erectile dysfunction. Probably the only reason why it is not as successful sales wise as Viagra is quite simply because it came after Viagra and Viagra stole the march on the other two simply by being the first on the market.

This year the sales of Levitra have been impressive and the figures show that sales are up almost 21 percent to 314 million euros. Bayer still need to spend millions and millions of dollars on promoting Levitra in order to make it catch up with Viagra and Cialis. They used some very aggressive and inventive marketing tactics this year one of which was to hire the model and actress Jerry Hall as an ambassador for the Levitra erectile dysfunction drug.
