no safety problems associated with using the Levitra in men with dyslipidemia

A few months ago Ukmedix News reported that testing had been done with the erectile dysfunction medication Levitra and it had been shown it was particularly effective in men who suffered from dyslipidemia. Dyslipidemia is a condition that occurs in men and women who have very high cholesterol levels.

Levitra And Dyslipidemia Research Presented To EAU

Just recently at the Annual European Association of Urology Congress the results of this testing were presented to urologists from all around the world. The research which was led by Professor Martin Miner who is a professor of family medicine based at Brown University in Massachusetts is interesting because it specifically examined whether the Levitra would be safe and effective in men suffering from dyslipidemia and who wanted to take erectile dysfunction treatment at the same time.

The testing which was done involving about 400 men was very carefully controlled using a placebo and double blind clinical trial format. All of the participants were also taking drugs called statins which control the effects of dyslipidemia. Over the 12 week trial period there were no safety problems associated with using the Levitra in men with dyslipidemia and overall there were statistically significantly better success rates in men being able to achieve penetration and maintaining erections when compared to the participants who were given the placebo drug.

Many men who suffer from high cholesterol also often suffer from erectile dysfunction.  High cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes are conditions which are all known to be indicators for erectile dysfunction. Some doctors may be concerned that giving erectile dysfunction medication to patients with high cholesterol levels could be dangerous but this survey shows that this is not the case.

One thing that you should be aware of as a man is that if you are suffering from erectile dysfunction it could well be because you have some underlying medical condition which you should also get help for. Doctors have seen that erectile dysfunction can be an indicator for heart disease, unhealthy living and hardening arteries and maybe you should get a check up for aspects of your health if you start to experience erection problems.

Research has shown that almost 70 percent of men who suffer from erectile dysfunction do so because of an underlying health problem and not purely because of poor blood flow to the penile artery.
