The Sex And Diet Drug Combined

So far this new drug has only been tried on female monkeys...

Ukmedix News has been reading a lot of chatter in the press about the new sex drug for women called Intrinsa that is being dubbed as the female Viagra, and now it appears that in a few years there could be another drug which could also help women who suffer from female sexual dysfunction but at the same time also help them lose weight. So far this new drug has only been tried on female monkeys and shrews but the results were impressive with both classes of animals being observed to have sex more often and to eat less. The drug works by releasing particular hormones in the female body.

The Sex And Diet Drug Combined

The researchers who hail from the Medical Research Council Human Reproduction Unit based in Edinburgh said that many more years of work when needed before this drug could be a commercial possibility to help women but that they were optimistic about the results. The key compound is a Type 2 Gonadotrophin-releasing hormone which on being given to female monkeys causes them to display themselves in a manner to attract male monkeys and possibly even more significantly the monkeys consumed about 30 percent less food than they had been before.

At Ukmedix News when we questioned a few women about whether they would be interested in taking a pill that would reduce their appetite and increase their sexual libido the response was extremely positive to say the least. While the research is still at an early position and more hard work needs to be done, should a drug like this come on the market (and it is seen to be effective and safe) its manufacturers will make a small fortune. The number of women who suffer from lack of sexual desire and who are very concerned about their weight is high and a drug that could combine treatment for both conditions would be a major BlockBuster in the world of pharmaceuticals.
