BioSante Pharmaceuticals Doing More Testing On LibiGel

LibiGel does not have approval from the European health authorities

The drug company BioSante Pharmaceuticals of Illinois is looking for more volunteers to take part in further studies on the drug LibiGel which is designed to cure female sexual dysfunction. At Ukmedix News we have already written about LibiGel and we are pleased to hear that BioSante Pharmaceuticals is forging ahead with more clinical testing.

BioSante Pharmaceuticals Doing More Testing On LibiGel

LibiGel is designed to work in the same way as the same as sexual dysfunction drug Intrinsa does by boosting the levels of testosterone in women. Testosterone is normally associated with male sex drive and aggression however most people are unaware that women need a certain level of testosterone also to function sexually. The majority of female sexual dysfunction in older women can be attributed to low levels of testosterone.

LibiGel is different from Intrinsa in that it will be applied by rubbing a certain amount of the gel on to the skin on your upper arm. The drug Intrinsa is applied by placing a patch on part of the body which slowly releases testosterone into the body.

LibiGel does not have approval from the European health authorities or from the Food & Drug Administration in America however if clinical testing continues to give good results and the approvals are forthcoming Ukmedix may soon be able to provide it for you.

Researchers say that as many as 35 percent of women suffer from very low or nonexistent sexual libidos and therefore the market for Libigel is huge. At present in the UK it is possible to get Intrinsa which has helped thousands of women already.

Female sexual dysfunction however is a much more complicated illness compared to erectile dysfunction.  Women tend to suffer far more from psychological sexual dysfunction as opposed to purely physical symptoms and therefore while medications can be very useful for them it is essential that they try to understand the underlying psychological problems that they may be facing.
