Working Out Could Be Physical Viagra

More research has concluded that men who get regular exercise not only are healthier, fitter and in better shape but also are statistically far less probable to suffer from erectile dysfunction as they grow older. For example in America at the New England Research Institute a study which looked at over 600 middle aged males saw that regular intense exercise lowered the chances of suffering from impotence at a later age. They classified the exercise as working off an extra 200 calories a day or going for a vigorous two mile walk.

Another research institute at the University of California studied 80 otherwise healthy but non-exercising middle aged males and asked them to record any changes in their erectile function after they were given exercise programs to follow. The exercise which took the form of hourly workouts three or four times weekly produced better erectile function, more frequent sex and an overall better sex life.
The Harvard School of Public Health has undertaken research on the link between erectile dysfunction and physical fitness too and they said that men who did twenty to thirty minutes daily exercise reduced the statistical likelihood of having erectile problems by 50 percent. Exercise not only keeps the heart, circulation and blood vessels in top condition but also reduces the chances of you suffering from being overweight or obese. Obesity in itself can cause so many different illnesses which in turn have an effect on your erectile function. For example diabetics suffer from higher rates of erectile dysfunction as do men with high blood pressure.
Interestingly the research showed that the best method to improve erectile function was to get exercise more so than just shedding weight, giving up smoking and drinking. So rather than immediately going to get a prescription for Viagra, Levitra or Cialis to improve your erectile function why not consider your lifestyle and see whether you can retain tiptop erectile function by getting fit and healthy. Over the long term it may pay big dividends for your sexual health in the future.
