Vivus Inc who recently suffered a setback with its plans to get FDA approval for its weight loss drug Qnexa are hoping to change the financial fortunes of their company with approval for a new erectile dysfunction medication.

A new study just released shows that the drug avanafil met all of the goals of a recently conducted clinical trial which had a positive effect on its share price. The clinical trial showed that men who took the drug avanafil and then attempted to have sexual intercourse within 15 minutes had an 80 percent success rate.
Avanafil is pretty similar to Viagra, Cialis and Levitra in that it is a PDE-5 inhibitor which works by boosting blood flow to the penile artery thus facilitating better and stronger erections. In the clinical testing the side effects of avanafil were identical to the side effects of other prescription impotence medications namely headaches, facial flushing and nasal congestion. Vivus say that what makes avanafil different is that it is faster acting than Viagra, Cialis and Levitra.
If we had to give advice to pharmaceutical companies about how to develop erectile dysfunction medication we would tell them to make the drug faster acting and this is exactly what Vivus have done. Men have spoken to us that Ukmedix News about being in a situation where they need to perform spontaneously and the last thing they want to do is to have to wait for their medication to take effect.
One of the reasons why the medication Cialis Daily is so popular is because of its ability to allow a man to get an erection at any time rather than fumbling for a tablet and a glass of water. Vivus said that they would be filing an application for approval with the FDA in the second quarter of 2011 and Ukmedix News will be keeping an eye out for future developments.
