Vitamin E Tested For Positive Effects On Erectile Function

many of the men reported increased penile hardness.

A preliminary study to determine whether using any one of the erectile dysfunction medications Viagra, Cialis or Levitra concurrently with vitamin E makes the medications even more effective has been carried out. The idea being that some men who don't respond to the three PDE-5 inhibitors may be able to improve their erectile function is they take vitamin E too.

Vitamin E Tested For Positive Effects On Erectile Function

The research which was done at the Department of Urology in the Hyogo College of Medicine in Japan was carried out by a team of researchers headed by Professor Kondoh.  The 89 men were examined between January, 2004 and August, 2006 and it was seen that in a number of cases taking the vitamin E significantly improved erectile function in some men. Using International Index of Erectile Function questionnaires it was observed that the average score increased from 13.8 +/- 3.2 to 17.1 +/- 3.6. The researchers also reported that some of the men experienced much better IIEF scores and that many of the men reported increased penile hardness.

The researchers understand that this is the first study which has looked at whether vitamin E can have a positive effect when used alongside erectile dysfunction medication. They acknowledge that their study was small and therefore could not be presented as conclusive evidence that vitamin E is a definite remedy for erectile dysfunction but nevertheless it is the case that more research needs to be undertaken in this area.

There is no harm in men who are suffering from erectile dysfunction making sure that they get regular amounts of vitamin E in their diet.  Provided that they don’t take too much of it and it does not exceed the recommended daily allowance it can do them no harm.  You should always get doctor’s advice for treating impotence.

Vitamin E is good for many things however one should make sure of the correct dose, one can overdose on Vit E if too much is taken.
