will be paying them around €25 each to take part in this study

At Ukmedix News we have come across plenty of anecdotal evidence which shows that there is a connection between men who make use of internet pornography on a regular basis and higher rates of erectile dysfunction.  Now a new team of researchers has come up with the idea of conducting an impartial clinical trial to see the effect of pornography on both the body and mind of volunteers.

students to be paid to watch porn for university study

The Portuguese University of Aveiro is currently recruiting students to watch pornographic videos and will be paying them around €25 each to take part in this study. During the study the university researchers will measure both psychological and physiological reactions of the volunteers to the pornographic images.

The study will be making use of men between the age of 18 and 40 and will be looking at both men who have normal erectile function and those who suffer from psychological erectile dysfunction. They will not be evaluating the effect of pornography on men who suffer from physical erectile dysfunction caused by vascular problems in the penile artery.

This study which has been described as pioneering and controversial will be done by the Laboratory Research Unit on Human Sexuality at the University of Aveiro which is nicknamed the SexLab. The research has actually been awarded government state funding.

Many men like to rubbish the idea that pornography can cause erectile dysfunction but there have been cases where men are unable to become sexually aroused without looking at very hard core images even if they are attempting to have sex with a woman. Men who use too much pornography can get to the point where they are unable to respond to physical sexual stimuli and need to visualize naked women in front of them in order to get erect and have sex.

The students who will take part in the study will need to watch pornography for 90 minutes and will be wired up to various machines that will record brain activity, blood pressure and other bodily changes throughout the period.

Will the university be responsible for the future effect on these young men if they end up suffering erectile dysfunction ???
