Potential Dangers Of Mobile Phones Needs To Be Addressed

A fertility expert has recently fired up the debate about whether using mobile phones could be having an effect on the fertility and sexual function of men. Mr. Ashok Agarwal claims that it has not been conclusively proved that mobile phones are of no danger to men especially those who keep their mobiles in their trouser pockets or on their belt.

He said that was important to remember that one study done on over 350 men had found a “significant relationship” between the usage of mobile phones and the quality of sperm. For his own research 32 men were asked to provide sperm samples of which half were then subjected to radiation that is commonly utilised by most mobile phones. At the end of the study it was clearly seen that the sperm quality of those samples exposed to the radiation for a one hour period were of inferior quality to those that had not been subjected to it.
The researchers examined the sperm samples for any changes to sperm motility, viability and any changes of a cellular or molecular nature. The results showed that sperm motility was down by seven percent and the sperm viability was down by eleven percent. Mr. Ashok Agarwal admitted that while the sample of men was small and therefore could not conclusively show that mobile phones were causing damage to sperm it was important that more research was conducted in this area before writing off the dangers of mobile phones to men.
He explained that it was also essential to look at the protection around the testes such as muscle and fat which would obviously reduce the impact of radiation on the sperm. He said that he and his colleagues were in the process of producing a computer model which would reliably mimic the effects of radiation on sperm in the testes from mobile phones.
The research which was printed in the Journal of Fertility and Sterility will no doubt get people talking about the potential dangers of mobile phones and in view of the huge mobile phone usage worldwide it is important that research is done to conclusively prove or disprove any threats to fertility and sexual function from them.

any ac micro wave oscilations above 1,000 hertz is dangerous to any human or any mammal cell if the energy is not dissipated by metal cage or water type fluid such as cerabal fluids; therefore although modern mobile phones are of low power some frequencies can be troublesome at close range when a person is speaking with accompanying loud background noise, cause the solid state magnatron within the phone emits a higher value output; therefore it is prudent not to speak for long durations of time with very high background noise; example whilst driving a noisey vehicle or working near noisey machinery. note; normal mobile use is quite safe as far as is known!
