Get it Up! Go Vegetarian!

The organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals say that men are putting their erectile function at risk by continuing to eat meat. They claim that the “ugly meat habit” will clog up arteries to all major organs including the penis, thus leading to impotence.

PETA also stated that over the long term vegetarian diets would be more effective for maintaining good erections than using the erectile dysfunction medication Viagra. Using the slogan "Get it Up! Go Vegetarian!", People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in Asia Pacific have put up billboards all around the region with the stunning model Alicia Mayer wearing hardly anything except sexy lingerie and suggestively holding onto a banana.

The hard hitting advertising campaign is the latest in a whole series of striking and shocking images which PETA have used over the years to encourage people to stop eating meat. From their research they know that men are particularly susceptible to changing lifestyle habits if they are told that it will have an effect on their erectile function. For example and doctors notice that if they warn their patients that smoking will cause heart disease they are less likely to have a response than if they warn that smoking could lead to impotence.

There is a certain amount of truth in the statements put forward by PETA in that excessive consumption of fatty meat is not beneficial for the heart or your arteries and over time could cause arterial problems leading to erectile dysfunction. It is also true that a low fat vegetarian diet is far healthier than a high fat meat diet, however it should also be pointed out that a low fat meat diet is healthier in the long term then a high fat vegetarian diet.

The vast majority of erectile dysfunction incidents are due to physical causes such as being obese, high blood pressure and blocked arteries and therefore living healthily and eating healthily over the long term is the best way to prevent erectile dysfunction in the future.
