Following on from press reports which say that the recreational drug Meow Meow is responsible for deaths in the United Kingdom new reports say that it could also be causing erectile dysfunction in men. Professor Mann from Queen's University in Belfast said that the Meow Meow drug which has the clinical name mephedrone may have killed up to 30 people in the UK already and could be responsible for hundreds of cases of impotence.

Mephedrone which is similar to an African drug called Khat is at present still perfectly legal and has even been sold in the United Kingdom as plant food. The case has highlighted the need for a swift response from the authorities to ban new versions of illegal drugs and the UK Home Secretary Alan Johnson said that he hoped to enshrine a ban on Mephedrone into the law by the middle of April.
Mephedrone is not the only recreational drug which causes erectile dysfunction because practically every single illegal substance is linked to higher rates of erection problems. For example regular users of cocaine and heroin often take the medication Viagra, Cialis and Levitra in order to maintain erectile function which incidentally is extremely dangerous and can put a huge amount of pressure on the heart leading to a heart attack.
If you are a regular user of recreational drugs and you are having problems in the bedroom department your first point of call should be a full medical checkup and a commitment to living healthy. Using prescription impotence drugs to counteract and make up for the detrimental effects of illegal substances might work in the short term but in the long term is likely to lead you into serious health complications which could be irreversible.
It is not only hard drugs like cocaine and heroin which lead to erection problems but cannabis too. Ukmedix News has previously published research which clearly shows the link between cannabis use and higher rates of erectile dysfunction.
